OPERA POSSE announces its first summer festival "OperaFusion" June 15th through July 1st, 2012 in Pasadena, California.
The OperaFusion Festival is dedicated to celebrating the inspiration of opera in unique Pasadena spaces. Artistic companies, creators, artists, directors, performers of any kind can apply to the festival with a performance pitch that is opera-inspired (for example, you could be a hip hop artist performing a short history of Carmen, a man performing a showcase in drag based on the life of Maria Callas, a film company that wants to showcase its film that is based on Franco Zeffirelli, or a local small opera company...). All are welcome upon approval. After a careful selection process, the Festival chooses a number of showcases for which it will provide a unique Pasadena performance space which will include technical amenities based upon the scale and needs of your production or performance. Cost to the performer is dependant upon the venue designated for their performance.
In addition to your application, please send any pertinent information about your performance (press package, bios, 8X10's, DVD, CD). If you have a website that thoroughly expresses your idea, you can also provide that.
There is a $35 processing fee for each application submitted. OPERA POSSE will announce 2012 OperaFusion Season in February and submit a brochure and newspaper announcements shortly thereafter.
